Debby Ryan keeps it both chic and comfy at the UGG and Darling Dinner this week in Los Angeles.
The actress and activist joined others for the intimate event, where Sarah Dubbeldam, Darling‘s EIC, held a conversation about women’s empowerment, health and wellness, pop culture and the changing seasons.
Disney star Debby Ryan is more than just a talented actress — she’s an activist as well!
Debby created a line of dad hats that aren’t just totally adorable; they’re also for a really, really good cause.
Buying one of the colorful hats, which are emblazoned with the word “lady” and will definitely bring your wardrobe up a notch, will go directly to “Love is Respect,” an emergency hotline against domestic abuse.
“I think being a lady goes beyond culture or class or generation,” Debby told Galore Magazine. “Being a lady, especially one in a ‘dad hat,’ has an implication of modern nobility…Love is Respect prioritizes treating every woman, person, and relationship individually.”
We totally agree. The hats are only on sale until midnight tonight, so make sure to buy yours ASAP
“They have such a system in place to where it’s really difficult to fail, but it’s not going to be done for you,” Debby shared in her new feature with LadyGunn. “In my relationship with Disney, the more that I learned, the more they encouraged me.”
Debby even goes on to explain that Disney blessed her with invaluable skills.
“I just automatically started doing things to make the days go faster and easier, which turned into a huge learning experience,” she shared. “If there was something I could do to make the shot funny and interesting, and to where we didn’t have to shoot it 47 times…I was happy to help out.”
Debby adds, “They took care of me, but they didn’t baby me.”

Debby Ryan is always striving to push herself in every way.
In her new feature with LadyGunn, the former Suite Life on Deck actress opened up about achieving even more than she thought possible.
“You cannot know enough. You cannot watch enough incredible films, you can never read too many scripts to inform your taste, or research the roles that you want to play. Every bit that you do and bring into your projects should really feel good to you, as in ‘this is actually like me.’ The more well-rounded and the more I put into everything, the better I am at what I do,” she shared.
Debby also opened up about her future projects and what she hopes to accomplish.
“I get afraid of getting out of my league but the truth is, I’m constantly pushing myself to live out of my league. I want to be doing something that scares me. I want to go for anything I put my mind to, and understand that the worst thing that they can say is no.”
The Disney Channel alum is making her return to television on the CW, in their new show Insatiable.
According to THR, the show will center on what happens when a disgraced and dissatisfied civil lawyer-turned-beauty pageant coach takes on a vengeful, bullied teenager as his client and has no idea what he’s about to unleash upon the world.
Debby will star as Patty, the smart, opinionated and vulnerable former fat girl who found solace through eating but after having her jaw broken, loses 70 pounds and turns out to be gorgeous.
She’s the daughter of a beautiful alcoholic who has just gotten her 60-day AA chip, and Patty’s life takes an unexpected turn when Bob, her lawyer/beauty pageant coach, offers to help her become a professional beauty queen.
