Emily Osment is clearing up some chatter about the Young & Hungry spin-off that’s being planned.
Speaking with EW after the season four premiere, the 24-year-old actress opened up about the potential spin-off which some fans think will take Sofia (Aimee Carrero) away from the original series.
“I want to clear this up because I’ve gotten so many responses on Twitter and Instagram like, ‘What’s going on? We have no idea! Are you being replaced?’ What’s happening is, we’re doing an episode where Sofia gets a job working for Logan Rawlings, Ashley Tisdale’s character,” Emily explained.
“We’re setting up this other show, where Sofia goes to work for Logan. And if that show goes [forward], that will be a completely separate production. Aimee — if she wants to — can go back and forth between that show and Young and Hungry. But Young and Hungry will remain the same. Young and Hungry won’t be changing at all,” she continued.
Emily added, “I would absolutely hate to see that [their friendship] go — Gabi would be a complete mess without Sofia.”
Emily Osment takes over the June 2016 cover of NKD mag.
The 24-year-old Young & Hungry actress opens up with the glossy about not loving anything about her debut album, playing Gabi Diamond and more. Check it:
On Fight or Flight: “I wasn’t writing by myself. I was writing with a bunch of people, and I had a manager who just threw me in the room with 60 different writers and it didn’t really feel as organic as the music I was listening to, like Incubus and Modest Mouse. It was an interesting process. I have a bunch of music that I’m just sitting on, and I’m kind of just taking my time because the first time around I went way too fast and I hate all those songs now. But it was a part of me and that was what I was like at that age.”
On taking a full year off from everything: “I’m very glad I took that year to figure out me, or whatever you want to call that. We [my father and I] this amazing talk. I remember being in Brazil and walking down the beach in Rio de Janeiro about my life and where I was going, and how thankful we were for each other. It was the coolest talk of my life and he’s a very important person in my life.”
On Gabi Diamond: “I think I was just so loopy and out of my mind when I went in there [in the audition room], that I was just so open and ready for anything. I was so loopy that they were like ‘Oh my God, this girl’s a train wreck! This is perfect!’…You play a character long enough, the character sort of becomes a version of you, which is cool. [I know Gabi] like the back of my hand.”
How cute is this new shot of the Young & Hungry cast?!
There’s less than a week away until Gabi, Josh, Sofia, Yolanda and Elliot return to our TV screens and JJJ can hardly wait!
In “Young & Hawaii,” Gabi (Emily Osment) is heartbroken over witnessing Josh (Jonathan Sadowski) with his therapist, but is stuck with him on their plane to Australia. Commiserating with fellow traveler Adam (Tyler Ritter), Gabi accepts his offer to pose as his new wife on his honeymoon to Hawaii, since his actual bride Amanda (Kelen Coleman) dumped him at the altar.
Trying to make Josh and Amanda jealous, Gabi and Adam decide to make the most of their “honeymoon” at a couples-only resort – and post about it on social media.
Meanwhile, Yolanda (Kym Whitley), Elliot (Rex Lee) and Alan (Bryan Safi) have to think fast when they end up at the same resort and the manager assumes they’re a “thrupple” – a three-person couple.
Young & Hungry premieres Wednesday, June 1st @ 8PM ET/PT on Freeform.

JJJ now officially feels old, since it’s been 10 years since Hannah Montana premiered on Disney Channel.
Stars Miley Cyrus, Emily Osment, Mitchel Musso and Jason Earles have all reflected on the show on social media and shared some memories along with it.
“Ten years ago yesterday, Hannah Montana aired on the Disney Channel. So nice to hear from both of these cutie pies this morning and I’m sure I’ll see you both soon. Big, big love. ?? #tbt”
Miley added, “@realdukeofearles understands the insanity of it all….. Sending love to all my cast members on this anniversary …. To the world it’s a celebration of 10 years but for us the journey began way before the world had any clue who the f*** any of us are ….. There was a very long auditioning process, and many chemistry reads which really is what sold the show to the producers and channel because no matter what went on over the years (which none of you have any clue about but It was like the real world but more hormonal teenagers) our love for each other was unquestionable….”
She continued, “Even though I feel disconnected to who I was at that time I will always feel eternally grateful for the opportunity and platform I was given …. None of it would have been possible with out every single person who ever contributed to the series …. From regulars , to special guests (and there were many magical ones @dollyparton ????) to creators, crew , directors….. I am where I am because of loyal fans that I am thankful for and of course love dearly all the new angels who support me now….. Even though HM is chopped up into little tiny pieces and buried in my backyard she will always hold a very special place in my heart! Celebrate this day with us! Get real drunk and remember #HM4EVR ???????? send pics gettinnnnn buck wild in honor of this special day! ?????? #letsplayadrinkinggame watch HM and every time someone says her name take a shot!
