Lauren Riihimaki, aka LaurDIY, is opening up about taking down a ton of videos from her YouTube channel.
The 27-year-old YouTuber, Podcaster, and host has been candid about growing up and evolving the kind of content she makes.
Now, she’s removed hundreds of videos from her YouTube, and she took to Twitter to explain why.
“full transparency, I privated over 500 videos today… so many of the videos gave a toxic perception of what a ‘perfect’ life looked like and I also want to avoid new viewers finding old content that isn’t a representation of the content I make now,” she wrote. “I kept lots of halloween DIYs, thrift flips, youtuber merch DIYs and room makeovers and to be clear, I’m not quitting DIY videos, just finding new ways to be creative within my content that’s entertaining for an audience that isn’t necessarily wanting to follow a tutorial.”
“I also have no intention of changing the name ‘LaurDIY’. I’m SO proud of the community we’ve built and the name I’ve built for myself in the digital industry over the span of 9 years on YouTube. DIY doesn’t have to mean DIY SpRiNg RoOm dEcOr FoR 2015 u feel me,” Lauren continued. “So THANK YOU for allowing me to grow alongside so many of you who have grown up with my content. I appreciate you and am excited for so many new projects and videos this year ✨.”
Back in December, Lauren shared a new YouTube video explaining that she was taking a break from her channel. See what she said then!
