'Series of Unfortunate Events' Louis Hynes Is Taking a Break From Acting Following Wrapping The Show

'Series of Unfortunate Events' Louis Hynes Is Taking a Break From Acting Following Wrapping The Show

It’s such a good thing that A Series of Unfortunate Events is on Netflix and we can binge watch it until eternity, because we probably won’t be seeing Louis Hynes much in other things.

Speaking with Paste magazine, the -year-old actor revealed that he’d be taking a step back to focus on his education.

“The hardest thing for me on set is probably trying to balance school and work. Education is really important to me and I have some big exams to do a few days after I get back from filming,” he shared about how hard it was to go to school on set.

“I will probably take a little break and focus on school and real life for a bit,” Louis added. “I think I will try and see what I can do in school holidays, but I really want to go to university and get a decent education and that will come first for the next few years.”

He’ll still be on the lookout for new projects though.

“That isn’t to say that if the right project came along I would necessarily turn it down, but I don’t think I will do something that takes as much commitment as ASOUE until at least after school,” Louis says. “I hope I will be able to continue acting in the school holidays and on shorter length productions for a while.”

If you missed it, Louis just reunited with his Unfortunate sister Malina Weissman!

The final scene of A Series of Unfortunate Events has been shot, and stars Malina Weissman and Louis Hynes are saying goodbye to their characters.

The two stars of the Netflix show, based on Lemony Snicket‘s novel series, wrapped up filming this week with Neil Patrick Harris saying goodbye earlier in the week to his own character, Count Olaf.

“That’s a wrap on ASOUE. I cannot thank the cast and crew enough for all of the incredible work they have put in to the show I have grown up on,” Louis wrote on his Instagram.

He adds, “I will miss all of you! It was so surreal to say goodbye and I still can’t quite believe it’s all over! What an amazing way to spend the last three years of my life. So much love for all of you.”

Louis Hynes Totally Improvised This Scene For 'A Series of Unfortunate Events'

Louis Hynes Totally Improvised This Scene For 'A Series of Unfortunate Events'

Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events season two is now streaming on the service and is full of a ton of new “adventures” for the Baudelaire orphans.

Speaking with MTV recently, star Louis Hynes, who plays Klaus, opened up about one scene that he improvised with help from co-star Neil Patrick Harris.

“There were a few moments in Season 2 that I was really happy with that were improvised,” he shared, citing Dr. Faustus as his favorite. “There were some great bits in that where I had the freedom to improvise a little because he’s less of a defined character than Klaus.”

Working with Neil on the improvisation, Louis has learned new tricks of the trade.

“I’ve had long chats with Neil about when that’s appropriate to do. I’ve always struggled to find times in such a worthy script to play around with that, but Neil’s always encouraging us to try things and to take risks that might not pay off but that OK because there’s always take two.

He added, “I’ve watched Neil do it many times, so it was a real privilege for me to try my hand at something a little bit similar.”
