Nolan Gould Spills on What He'll Miss About 'Modern Family'

Nolan Gould is spilling on what he’ll miss most about Modern Family and it’s pretty funny!

The 21-year-old actor joked that one of his favorite things about being on set was the free food!

“Free food is pretty awesome. I’ve made out like a bandit over the years. Sometimes I bring Tupperware in with me and, you know, we have leftovers…I bring it home with me,” Nolan told ABC Audio.

He added that the free food was particularly “great, especially as a young man, 21 years old, that’s how I survive.”

But Nolan did get more sentimental when he explained how the show changed his life, saying, “The cast and crew will forever be part of my life and the experiences and the memories. It’s changed me, like, to the core.”

Hear what else Nolan had to say about the end of the show!

'Modern Family' Kids Reflect On Show Ahead of Series Finale

Modern Family is coming to an end tonight (April 8)!

The long running series began in 2009, and went on for 11 seasons.

The kids on the show, who are mostly not kids anymore, have been sharing tidbits, behind the scenes photos and more are looking back at their time before the finale.

“Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened. To put it in Bachelor terms, I’ve had an incredible journey with this show. Our cast and crew were always phenomenal and we very quickly grew to be a real life #modernfamily I will miss these people tremendously but am so grateful I was lucky enough to work with them. So get your tissues ready… The end of 11 years with @abcmodernfam airs tonight on @abcnetwork 8/7c pm. Thank you all for being there every step of the way. We love you 💕,” Sarah Hyland captioned a photo on Instagram.

“With only a fews day left before the series finale of Modern Family, I thought I would share some memories of my time on the show. Starting with the award shows we attended. What an honor it was to stand next to my cast on these stages and accept these awards not just on our behalf, but on behalf of our crew too. We never, ever took this for granted. I mean, if you would’ve told 8 year old Rico he would one day win a Kids’ Choice Award and get slimed on stage, he would’ve said ‘Man, I’ve made it!’” Rico Rodriguez wrote on his account.

Tune in for the two hour series finale of Modern Family TONIGHT (April 8), starting at 8/7c on ABC.

Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Rico Rodriguez & Nolan Gould Open Up About The Difficulties of Growing Up On Screen With 'Modern Family'

Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Rico Rodriguez & Nolan Gould Open Up About The Difficulties of Growing Up On Screen With 'Modern Family'

Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Rico Rodriguez and Nolan Gould have grown up right on screen on ABC’s hit series, Modern Family, and at times, it was difficult.

The four stars opened up at the show’s final panel during ABC’s Winter TCA Press Event this week in Pasadena, Calif., and revealed the tough times they all went through while growing up on the small screen.

“Growing up in front of everybody is difficult. It’s stressful,” Ariel shared. “Millions of people think they can comment on your life.”

Nolan recalled a time when puberty hit and it was stressful: “There’s definitely one season for me when I hit puberty right when we went on break, and then we came back and I had changed but not quite enough,” he shared.

“It’s strange having those years broadcast to millions of people. It’s like your home movies, but for everyone to see. I think we were pretty lucky we had such a great fan base that was very supportive of us.”

Ariel and Sarah both pointed out that while they did get support from fans, and their co-stars, there were others who weren’t supportive at all.

“I definitely think it’s really difficult to grow up in front of people who have an opinion on everything you do and are allowed to say it at any point, or keyboard troll,” Ariel says of online trolls and naysayers. “It’s definitely difficult but yeah, we have great support in each other.”

“I have cringeworthy season, not because of puberty, but because of health things, so I cannot stand I think it’s like Season 4 or 5, because I had very bad stretches on face and I gained like 30 pounds,” Sarah added.

She also noted that she and Ariel had stuck together while facing the haters: “That, for me, was something that Ariel and I were going through around the same time … People really love to show the love to attack women, especially, and I think Ariel is such an amazing woman … I think between the two of us, we really have gone and tackled them with all of our fighting with our might and wit.”
