Earlier in the week, Scotty dished to Fandango about how the movie, Miracle, inspired him during American Idol.
“If you could read my mind when Ryan Seacrest said the winner of ‘American Idol’ is Scotty McCreery, you could almost hear those lines ‘Do you believe in miracles?’ It was incredible for me out of nowhere, small town USA, to be getting up there and doing that in front of all those people,” he shared.

Scotty McCreery makes the silliest face he can with Make-A-Wish Kids Makalyn, Jessica, and Thomas backstage at the 2015 Stars For Wishes event in Nashville, Tenn., on Saturday night (January 17).
The 21-year-old singer joined others, including Natalie Stovall, for the event that Journey‘s Jonathan Cain put together in 2013.
The event is a chance for celebrities to join local partners to show their support for middle Tennessee wish kids.
This year’s gala was hosted by TV personality Melissa Rycroft and includes a celebrity guest chef, performances by country artist Scotty, Gary Allan and more, plus stories of amazing wishes being granted in the community.
The 25-year-old entertainer was not the only celeb in attendance – Scotty McCreery and The Walking Dead‘s Emily Kinney were also there! Emily was seen posing for pics with lots of country stars on the red carpet!

Scotty McCreery shared a very emotional, very powerful Veterans Day tribute to U.S. Marine Lance Corporal Andrew Carpenter in honor of Veterans Day and JJJ had to share it with everyone.
Carpenter, a native of Columbia, Tenn., was serving his second tour of duty in Afghanistan when he came under enemy fire and was fatally wounded on Valentine’s Day 2011. He passed away five days later, leaving behind his wife Chrissie who was pregnant with their first child, Landon.
“My family and I have always been thankful for the men and women who protect us and lay down their lives to keep all Americans free,” Scotty shared in a statement. “When Nathan told me the story about his cousin’s husband, I knew it was a very personal way to connect our audiences to the song ‘The Dash.’ On this day when we honor our military veterans, I could think of no better way to show my respect than to make sure my fans have a chance to know Andrew and his story. R.I.P. Andrew – there is no way I can truly thank you for your sacrifice, but I can make sure you are never forgotten.”
