Here’s the film’s synopsis: “We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s case, by shouting out one word – SHAZAM! – this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult superhero Shazam.”
Asher opened up about what he wants kids to take away from the movie, in theaters April 4.
“I want them to see that family is the most important thing,” he said. “This is a kid that hasn’t had anyone and it’s just been him all alone in this world for his entire life and I think that’s important for kids because not having a mom, not having a dad, and going to these foster homes and going in and out of group homes, and then finding your real family through that is really important.”
“xcited to share another sneak peek of #SHAZAM โก – in theaters April 5,” Asher wrote on his Instagram.
The film follows streetwise teenager Billy Batson, who by shouting out the word “SHAZAM!” can turn into the adult superhero Shazam, courtesy of an ancient wizard.
