“FLOWER premieres tomorrow night at @tribeca,” Zoey shared on Instagram the day before along with the photo set below. “Words can’t begin to describe the amount of fun and work this movie was, so pictures will have to do.”
Flower tells the story sexually curious teen (Zoey) who forms an unorthodox kinship with her mentally unstable step-brother.
The 22-year-old actress holds one of five covers, also including Alexandra Daddario, and opened up to the glossy about working hard. Check it:
Zoey on her life mantra: “I was raised to do what you love and work your f—cking ass off. Be humble. Be nice to people. And you might be ready to be lucky.”
Alexandra on the intersection of emotion and politics: “I think we are beginning to look at ourselves differently now. Politics to me is finally about how we treat the people in our lives and those around us. What are we angry about? What do we hate? What do we love? Do we want other people to do what we do? Do we not care what other people do? Do we feel safe? It all becomes this jumbled mess of fear and hate.”
Zoey Deutch gives a smoldering look in a photo from her spread in C Magazine‘s April issue, on stands now.
The 22-year-old Before I Fall actress opened up about her famous mom, the ups and downs of Hollywood and her drive to succeed. Check it:
On being ambitious: “I love what I do. I really do…And I’m really ambitious. But ambition is a dirty word to some people. All it means is that you’re willing to work hard to do what you love.”
On inheriting her work ethic from her mother, actress Lea Thompson: “She works harder than anyone I know. I remember when I was a kid, she never said, ‘I’m so sorry I have to go to work.’ She would just say, ‘I love you, and I’m going to work.’ We knew that she was proud of it, and she was also an excellent mother. There were no apologies necessary.”
On coming to terms with the ups and downs of working in Hollywood: “At the Gotham Awards, Ethan Hawke gave this great speech; the gist was that he was it then he wasn’t it. He was hot and then not hot. And that it was good for him to experience that, and know that it won’t always be consistent. It’s a job. You have to be OK with the ebbs and flows.”
Some people look at ambition in women as a negative thing and stars like Yara Shahidi, Zoey Deutch, Gabby Douglas, and more are coming together to let their female fans know that it should be viewed as a positive!
The ladies teamed up with the Tory Burch Foundation for a new PSA encouraging women to embrace ambition. The new campaign coincides with International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month.
Inspired by Tory’s personal experience as a woman and an entrepreneur, the campaign aims to address the double standard that exists around ambition, which is often seen as a great attribute in men and as a negative in women.
