Power of Youth Spotlight: Keke Palmer

Power of Youth Spotlight: Keke Palmer

Nick starlet Keke Palmer is just one of the five teen celebrities being honored at Variety’s Power of Youth Event tomorrow afternoon and we’re here to shed a big spotlight on the budding philanthropist.

The 16-year-old True Jackson, VP starlet full-heartedly supports Boys & Girls Clubs of America and is the spokesperson for BGCA program “It’s Cool to Be Smart” (ICTBS), which serves underprivileged youth by providing access to role models, music artists and positive messages that encourage success in education.

Keke shared with Variety of how she got started, “The executive director of ICTBS, Curtis Benjamin, approached (me) three years ago and asked me if I wanted to go talk to some kids about my experiences. I said sure because I love talking to my peers. It ended up being a lot of fun. I love trying to motivate and inspire them and let them know there is more out there in life than the neighborhood they live in.”

Isn’t Keke great? Congrats on being honored this year!
