Cassie Scerbo: 'It's Not About Being Popular, It's About Having the Right Friends'

Cassie Scerbo keeps it classy in a black mini dress as she arrives at the World’s Most Beautiful Magazine Launch Event held held at Drai’s Hollywood on Wednesday night (August 10).

The 21-year-old actress’ new flick Teen Spirit, just premiered on ABC Family over the weekend.

Speaking to press, Cassie opened up about girls striving to be popular and what the film teaches you: “I think it goes to show that sometimes popularity can actually hurt, to be honest. It’s not about being popular. It’s about having the right friends. And in this film you realize, definitely, there’s certain people that you care about and certain people that matter and there will always be people that will stab you in the back.

Cassie added, “And like I said, being super popular can actually take away from who you are as a person, make you feel pressured, or you have to get to be a certain thing or trust a certain way. So even with personality, the more popular Lisa gets in the film the less likeable she gets, and the less unique and beautiful she is.”
