'The Vampire Diaries' Scoop: Elena Gets New Love Interest?

According to E! News, the 31-year-old actor is set to join the cast of The Vampire Diaries for the upcoming fifth season.

Shaun will play Aaron, a college student who wants to escape his tortured past. He and Elena (Nina Dobrev) reportedly bond over their mutual dark family history, and become good friends. And maybe more?

The site also reports, “Something will affect [Damon and Elena's] relationship big-time in the first half of the season. And it’s not a supernatural element getting in the way of Delena happiness.”
