Derek Hough spends New Year’s Day with a mystery brunette gal on the beach in St. Barts on Thursday (January 1).

The 29-year-old Dancing With the Stars pro dancer was seen getting affectionate with his gal pal while going in for a hug. Derek was also joined by his friend, entrepreneur Douglas Chabbott.

It was recently rumored that Derek is seeing actress Kate Hudson and that they were spotted “making out” after her split from fiance Matthew Bellamy. Well, it doesn’t seem like they rang in the new year together as she was in Aspen with her family.
