Lily James on Fairy Tales & Princesses: 'It's A Message of Strength & Kindness'

The 25-year-old actress opened up about donning a corset for the film and revealed she was on a liquid diet because of it.

“It was so ?tight, I could only eat soup,” she shared. “I basically spent most of that scene [the ballroom scene] burping.”

Lily added about her love for classic fairy tales, “As a child, I loved fairy tales and princesses, but a lot of people think they’re not great role models for kids: aspiring toward just marriage or a man…but I feel like in the film we try to focus on a message of strength and kindness as a way to live your life.”
