Wet Hot American Summer: Last Day Of Camp hits Netflix on July 31! Check out what Hailey told us below!

JustJaredJr.com: Tell us how you got involved with the show!

Hailey Sole: Getting involved in Wet Hot American Summer was no different than any other show. First my parents reviewed the script and decided I could go out on the audition, although it was a little risky. Then I went to the audition, tried my hardest, and went on with my everyday life and hoped for the best. In the beginning I didn’t even know how big of a role this really was, I just thought it was like any other role. It wasn’t until a couple days before filming that I found out how incredibly talented (and not to mention famous) the cast really was. That sure was a shock!

JJJ: Tell us about your character!

HS: My character is Amy, one of the new campers on the show. She is one of those people that does her best to really try and be friends with everyone. I think the audience will really connect with her, and I can’t wait to see the viewers grow with my character as she develops throughout the season. Amy will definitely go through some ups and downs throughout the season. I think her character will keep everyone tuned in because it is a very interesting storyline, and I’m really excited to see the audience’s reactions to her.

JJJ: The cast is full of some major names. Was that intimidating? Who were you most excited to work with?

HS: It was not intimidating, I was more excited than nervous because that meant it would be a really fun set, and it sure was. I was looking forward to being able to work with, and learn from, all of the actors/actresses on the show since they are all so talented.

JJJ: Who would you say you were closest to on set?

HS: There were four other actors that played campers on the show that I worked with a lot, so I would have to say I was the closest with them.

JJJ: What’s been your most memorable moment on set so far?

HS: Practically all of the moments on set were memorable. Most of the scenes we had included something awkward or funny in it, so I could probably go on and on about funny moments…but I can’t tell you too much. All I can say is that there are a countless amount of scenes that I will never forget.

JJJ: You’ve been acting for years even though you’re so young. What got you started in the industry?

HS: Well I’ve always been more into the arts than sports, so when I was little my parents decided to put me into a small acting workshop in our hometown of Texas. There happened to be an agency at the workshop that liked me, so they called me out to California and had me go on my first audition. I ended up getting it, and eventually I decided that acting was something I wanted to do.

JJJ: This is your second time working with Amy Poehler, right?

HS: Working with Amy Poehler is honestly such a blast! When I worked on Parks and Recreation with her, she would always improvise and constantly kept us entertained. She is really sweet and I remember the first time I worked with her she took the time to come up and introduce herself to me which was really cool. She is so much fun to be around, and I hope to be able to work with her again in the future.

JJJ: How do you balance school and work?

HS: I find it easy to balance school and work. I usually only work a couple day a week, and the days I am gone, my teachers give me my schoolwork to do on set with a set teacher. Missing school for filming is kind of like missing school because you’re sick; your teachers give you your work, you complete it, and then you bring it in the next day your back in school. Also, I have a set teacher that helps me with my work on set so that always makes it a lot easier to.

JJJ: What do you like to do for fun when you’re off work?

HS: When I’m off work, I always try to find time to hang out with my friends. This usually means going to the movies, shopping at the mall, or even just having a pool party. My friends are definitely a huge part of my life, and spending time with them is very important to me.
