Carlos PenaVega might not have been able to make it to Witney Carson‘s wedding in Utah on New Year’s Day — but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t thinking of her.

The 26-year-old actor and singer wrote a sweet message to his former Dancing With The Stars partner after she wed her high school sweetheart, Carson McAllister.

“Just wanted to take a second to congratulate my dancing partner..the beautiful @WitneyCarson on her marriage!” he wrote on Instagram. “SOO Sorry I could not be there! Love you and pray that you and Carson love one another forever and keep God 1st! You have just embarked on the best journey life has to offer! #marriedlife.”

Carlos added, “Happy that @therealalfonsoribeiro could be there to represent all your DWTS partners!! I’m sure you all had an incredible day and I can’t wait to hear all about it when your back!!”
