Charlie Puth Hung Up on Ellen DeGeneres the First Time She Called Him

Charlie Puth sits down for a chat on The Ellen Show with Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday (January 13).

The 24-year-old Grammy nominated musician told the audience that the first time Ellen called him to appear on the show, he thought it was a prank and hung up on her.

“I’m a sophomore in college and it’s very unrealistic for The Ellen Show to call you. So I moved into my new apartment and I get a call from a 818 number. It says Northern Los Angeles and I’m like, ‘Los Angeles? What is this magical place?’” Charlie said. “A producer called me, like, ‘Hey, it’s The Ellen Show. I’m like, ‘OK cool bye.’”
