Nastia Liukin Heads To Rio As Official Gymnast Commentator

Nastia Liukin is headed back to the Olympics — but this time as a commentator!

The 26-year-old former Olympian will be on the sidelines this time as an official gymnastics commentator at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympic Games kicking off in August.

“This is a huge deal! I’m so excited to be back,” Nastia dished to People. “I’ve been keeping track of all the gymnasts in the competitions leading up. I’ve gotten to know the gymnasts, their start values and their routines.”

She added, “It’s a little challenging, though, because when I’m commentating I have to remain neutral and I’m still friends with these girls, so that’s hard for me!”

Nastia will sit alongside former Olympian Tim Daggett, Al Trautwig and primetime correspondent coach Bela Karolyi as an NBC analyst.
