The film is the adventure of an orphaned boy named Pete and his best friend Elliot, who just so happens to be a dragon.

It stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Oakes Fegley, Wes Bentley, Karl Urban, Oona Laurence, Isiah Whitlock, Jr., and Robert Redford.
