Ariana Grande Won't Have a Solo in 'Hairspray Live!'

Ariana Grande looks super cute in a pink bomber jacket while speaking at NBCUniversal’s Press Day during the 2016 Summer TCA Tour held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Tuesday (August 2) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 23-year-old superstar was at the event to talk about her role in NBC’s upcoming production of Hairspray Live!

Despite Ariana‘s amazing vocal chops, she revealed that they won’t be adding any new songs to the production just for her.

“I don’t want to change anything about the role or how she develop. I just love Penny and it’s just such a great honor to play her. I don’t want any sort of special icing or parts. This is just really great and I’m so happy,” Ariana explained.

Executive producer Neil Meron added, “I think one of the thrills is Ariana wanted to play the part as written. She loved the fact that she kind of held off those powerful pipes until the very end.”
