Swimmer Lilly King's Finger Wag at Yulia Efimova Goes Viral
US Swimmer Lilly King has become a viral sensation after her finger wag at Russia’s Yulia Efimova during the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics on Sunday (August 7).
The 19-year-old swimmer wagged her finger at Yulia after the 100-meter breaststroke semifinals.
“Basically, what happened this morning was that I finished and then I waved my finger a little bit, because that’s kind of how I am. Then tonight just now Yulia got done with her swim and I am watching in the ready room and there she is there shaking her finger. So then I got done and I beat her time so I waved my finger again. People probably think I am serving it up a little bit but that is just how I am,” Lilly explained to USA Today. “You’re shaking your finger number one and you’ve been caught for drug-cheating. I’m just not a fan.”
Yulia served a 16-month suspension which ended last year, and then was caught doping again this year, though that was overturned.
The final race for the 100-meter breaststroke will be happening tonight.
Lilly King doesn't hold back.
