Deniz Akdeniz Starts Filming For 'Once Upon A Time's New Season

Deniz Akdeniz works on a scene with Jennifer Morrison for the upcoming season of Once Upon A Time on Thursday (September 8) in Vancouver, Canada.

The 26-year-old Aussie actor will star as Aladdin in the upcoming season, opposite Karen David as Jasmine and Oded Fehr as Jafar.

“We talked about using these characters pretty much since the first season, internally,” showrunners Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis shared about the Agrabah storyline introduction. “It was always about the right time and when it would fit into the storytelling the way we wanted to.”

They added about the love story between Jasmine and Aladdin, “I think that their love story is such a central part of their story that we want to honor that. I think that we’re going to open up a new avenue for Aladdin and Jasmine in our little cul-de-sac.”
