We knew this was coming sooner rather than later — Derek Hough is bidding goodbye to the Dancing With The Stars ballroom.
In his cover story with NKD mag, the dancer/actor confirms that he’s leaving the show in 2017, and moving on with NBC’s new dance competition, World of Dance, as a judge.
“It’s going to be a great year. It’s going to be a transitional year for me. A new chapter,” he shares.
Derek adds, “The show is my family. It’s really important to me, and its been a part of my life for so long…My reason for not returning is when I look at that room, I kind of feel like I’ve done what I can in that room and in that space. I’ve accomplished so much in that space. I feel like I need to move onto a different space.”
Derek also has the Singin’ In The Rain on Broadway in 2017.
