ZENDAYA – SEASON 16

Zendaya wasn’t well known when she signed on for season 16 of the show. But young fans knew her from Shake It Up, where she portrayed a dancer.

But this was a fictional show. Yes, she got paid for this, but it wasn’t as a dancer. Her main role was actress.

Partner Val Chmerkovskiy explained the “unfair advantage” then: “Well, I think I have an advantage every season. I’m a dancer.”

“I think this time around, I’ve figured myself around the show a little bit better. I definitely feel like I have an advantage every season. I have a very positive, optimistic outlook on every partner that I have. Everyone holds certain talents and certain capabilities, and it’s my job to bring the best out of them.

“So do I have an advantage? Aly Raisman is an Olympic gymnast and Kellie Pickler is a singer with a lot of fans. I think everyone has an advantage on Dancing With the Stars. And I’m not trying to weasel my way out of the fact that Zendaya is an incredible dancer.”
