Peyton List Opens Up About Her Love/Hate Relationship With Social Media

You might’ve noticed that Peyton List hasn’t been on Twitter a lot lately — and there’s a reason for it.

The Bunk’D actress opened up in an essay for InStyle about how she’s revamped her social media habits and has stepped back from Twitter altogether.

“These days I stay away from Twitter, it’s really too judgmental,” Peyton reveals. “It’s mostly just people roasting each other, and I don’t even look at it.”

However, Peyton is still on Instagram, Snapchat and other platforms.

She adds, “Social media is a like a lot of other things in life: It can be awesome, but we’re in charge of setting our own boundaries about what we want to put out into the world.”

“I love social media and the connections that it makes possible. I love sharing ideas, meeting new people and being inspired by people I would have never met any other way,” Peyton writes. “But there’s a danger to it that is real.”

“It can suck up all your time, make you feel less than you are if you’re comparing your life to someone else’s perfectly filtered existence, and there are security threats that come with geo-tagging or live vlogging your exact location,” she adds. “Social media is great, but real social interactionmeaningful conversations, sleepovers, and laugh sessions with the people I loveis better. More face time than FaceTime, you know?”
