Lindsey Stirling's DWTS Quickstep Was The Story Of How She Overcame Anorexia

Lindsey Stirling performed an amazing butterfly-inspired Quickstep last night on Dancing With the Stars with Mark Ballas.

The violinist opened up about the inspiration behind the entire performance and that was her battle with anorexia.

“I was stuck in a caterpillar phase,” Lindsey shared with ET. “I had to go through that transformative hard work.”

Lindsey adds, “It was like a full-time job to get over anorexia, for two years. And I came out the other side and honestly feel like everybody can be and feel beautiful. That’s the most important thing — how you feel about yourself.”

She adds about her mission with the dance: “I wanted to give people hope that they can thrive.”

“I think everybody does, and for me personally, it was that I struggled with anorexia and depression for years and at certain times I thought, ‘It’s too hard to get out of this.’”

Be sure to watch DWTS tonight for her next dance!
