Demi Lovato Fans Think 'Ruin The Friendship' Is About Nick Jonas After Lyrics Are Released

While Demi Lovato has yet to drop one of her most-anticipated tracks “Ruin The Friendship”, off her upcoming album, the lyrics are here and her fans think they know exactly who the song is about — Nick Jonas.

The singer has stated before that everyone will know exactly who it’s about when they hear it and all signs point to Nick, well, some signs at least.

“Put down your cigar and pick me up / Play me your guitar, that song I love / Thirsty for your love, fill my cup up / I only got good intentions, so give me your attention,” the lyrics read.

In another interview with Noisey, Demi revealed that the same person who inspired “Ruin The Friendship”, also inspired another song, “Only Forever” — a track about imagining a future with someone you know you’re meant to be with.

“I was frustrated with a certain situation,” Demi shared. “And I was like, ‘You know what, I’m just going to write about it.’ And so I did, and sent [the songs] to that person, and that was…interesting.”

She continues, “Any time you send a song about the person, to the person – it’s ballsy. It’s like, ‘Hey! Here’s my feelings for you!’ [�] They knew [about my feelings], but neither of us had acknowledged [them] before. And then it turned out that person had written a song about me, and we exchanged songs.”
