Remember when Saoirse Ronan misspelled girl to grill for Ed Sheeran‘s “Galway Girl” music video?
We think maybe everyone does — and it was long believed that she tattooed it like that on accident — but we’d all be wrong.
In a new interview on The Late Late Show with James Corden, the Irish actress revealed that it was all planned!
“It’s not a mistake,” Saoirse admits. “Ed got up on stage about two days after we did that and said that I had made the mistake and it makes me look illiterate, and I’m here to say that it was all planned.”
She adds later, a little sarcastically, “We thought it would be funny and edgy if we misspelled girl and made it grill instead. Because we’re so clever.”
