Adelaide Kane Teases If Drizella Will Get a Happy Ending on 'Once Upon a Time'

We’ve made it! Once Upon a Time is back tonight and JJJ is so excited!

Our fave Adelaide Kane recently spoke with NKD magazine about playing a powerful character like Drizella, aka Ivy, in the series.

“You hate her but you kind of love her at the same time,” Adelaide shared. “I like her a lot…going into this, I wanted to make sure she was her own person and had her own motives, and her own reason for what she did outside of Cinderella and her storyline.”

She adds that it was “fun to play her as this dumb, ditzy, petty, damaged young woman, and then to have that be the kicker. Surprise, surprise! Smarter than you think.”

But will Drizella get her own happily ever after after the season — and ultimately series — is over?

“There was a line in it where I ask Regina [Lana Parrilla] if casting the dark curse made her happy, or if it gave her what she wanted. And she said, ‘I thought it did, but I wanted the wrong things’, Adelaide says. “So I think that Ivy’s path to redemption, or Drizella’s path to redemption, will be found through figuring out what she – not wants – but needs.”

“What will really give her a sense of satisfaction, a sense of closure and a sense of purpose.”
