Katherine McNamara Shares Meaning Behind Her Tiny New Gingko Tattoo

Katherine McNamara is showing off her brand new, meaningful tattoo on Instagram.

The 22-year-old Shadowhunters star opened up about the meaning behind the tiny flower/tree inked on her the inside of her third left hand finger.

“Ginkgo leaves symbolize endurance, hope, and longevity,” Katherine explained. “These trees were my great grandmother’s favorite and her love for them has been passed down through the women in my family.”

She adds, “I’ve grown up surrounded by strong, enduring, hopeful women and so thankful for it. Thank you @east_01 for helping me celebrate this love and always keep it close. 💛 #ginkgo.”
