Kiernan Shipka's Allergies Almost Made Salem a Dog In 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina'

Did you know that Salem was almost turned into a dog for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina?!

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa opened up about how he almost had to make a change in the story because star Kiernan Shipka is allergic.

“I get a call that says, ‘Kiernan is allergic to the cat,’” he told EW. “It did go through my mind: Could Salem be a dog?”

But, Kiernan was a true professional and powered through her allergies to keep the story true to the comics.

“We keep at a safe distance,” she said. “It’s like, ‘Actors That Didn’t Get Along in Shows: Kiernan and the Cat Hated Each Other.’”
