Kelsea Ballerini just announced “Miss Me More” as the third single off of her sophomore album, Unapologetically, and opened up about why it means so much.

“I’m continually grateful for the chapters of my life that have led me to who and where I am now…especially this one,” the 25-year-old country starlet wrote on her Instagram in an honest caption with her fans.

Kelsea continues, “I remember looking in the mirror and not recognizing myself. I had made myself smaller, had stopped celebrating my life and the things I had worked hard for, and had conformed the way I looked and acted to fit into the box of how someone else saw me and wanted me.”

“All to say, I missed myself more than any kind of love anyone else could give me.”

Kelsea adds that the message behind the song is what you should be paying attention to and that you are important.
