OlderJanel Parrish 'Screamed & Cried With Joy' During Sister's Army Promotion
Janel Parrish is so proud of her sister Melissa!
The To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before actress, who recently celebrated her 30th birthday, took to Instagram on Saturday (November 3) to let fans in on her excitement.

“Yesterday my bad ass and beautiful sister was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel,” Janel captioned a slideshow of images. “She has served in the US Army for 16 years. I couldn’t be there for her promotion 😔 So I FaceTimed in to watch my family pin her rank as she took her oath. I am so proud of my amazing sister.”
“Here are some bad quality photos of me screaming/crying with joy while watching her get promoted ❤️,” she added.
The first photo shows her sister smiling in her uniform, the second shows Melissa taking her oath as Janel screams with happiness, and the third features Melissa getting a hug as Janel flashes a huge grin.
The ceremony took place in Tacoma, Wash., and Janel has been filming The Perfectionists in Portland, Ore.
