Ariel Winter Thought Her 'Modern Family' Character Was Going To Die On The Show

Ariel Winter keeps close to longtime boyfriend Levi Meaden while leaving Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday night (November 4).

Just recently, Ariel opened up about the significant death of DeDe on Modern Family and how she thought it was initially going to be her character, Alex.

“We got the table draft like 10 minutes later and I opened it and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, it’s me, I’m done. They fired me,’” she shared with Variety.

However, Ariel felt a lot of relief when it wasn’t: “And then I’m like, ‘It’s not me, thank God,’ but also sad because we no longer have Shelley Long.”
