'The Last Song' Author Nicholas Sparks Celebrates Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth's Marriage

We’re still over the moon about Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth‘s wedding news – and it looks like author Nicholas Sparks is too!

If you don’t know, Miley and Liam actually met on the set of The Last Song, which Nicholas penned in 2009 especially for Miley.

After expressing interest in taking on an inspirational story like A Walk to Remember, Nicholas developed the plot and characters, worked up the screenplay, and then wrote the novel.

Miley even chose her character’s name (Ronnie was her grandfather’s name) and developing sequences in which Ronnie tries to save a nest of endangered sea turtles after she mentioned she loved animals.

Now, Nicholas is sending his congratulations to the longtime couple who met because of the movie.

“This makes me so happy. Congratulations @MileyCyrus and @LiamHemsworth. #TheLastSong,” he wrote on Twitter.
