Here's How Cierra Ramirez Got Her Role as Mariana Adams-Foster

We can think of no one else but Cierra Ramirez to play Mariana Foster-Adams in The Fosters franchise.

As we gear up for the premiere of the spinoff series, Good Trouble, JJJ looked back on one of our older interviews with the 23-year-old actress and found out just how Cierra won the role.

“My auditioning process was actually very strange,” she told us. “I literally auditioned for the show the day I found out that the series I was on, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, was not getting picked up for another season.”

Cierra added, “I put myself on tape. They were testing for the role of Mariana and I didn’t think I’d make it in time, but I later found out that I did get the role.”

“It was really fast, but it was such a blessing to just hop on from one project to another.”

Good Trouble premieres next week on Freeform.
