Dove Cameron Turns Into Famous Teen Queens In New 'Cosmo' Feature

Dove Cameron is all regal in this gorgeous picture from her new Cosmopolitan feature.

The 22-year-old Clueless: The Musical star transformed into famous teen queens, like Princess Diaries‘ Mia Thermopolis and The Breakfast Club‘s Claire, all while speaking about why she chooses to be open about her mental health and self care with her fans.

After a couple of tragedies that happened when she was young, including her father’s suicide, Dove made sure to take more care of herself and it’s exactly why she’s an open book with her fans.

“A lot of people in my family, including myself, deal with some variety of mental health stuff,” she says.

Dove continues, “To lose somebody who is your world, so suddenly, with no goodbye, and then no explanation. No letter, no reconciliation. And then to slowly realize over time that they’re never coming back… I woke up in the middle of the night, like a month ago, and I was like, ‘Oh, my God.’ It’s real. That’s a forever thing.”

“I’d rather look at them, face-on, head-on, with the lights on,” she adds of her candor with her fans. “And make them less scary for my young fans. And make them acceptable to talk about. So that it doesn’t become this festering thing that they don’t know how to deal with.”
