Camila Cabello Turned To 'Cheetah Girls' To Make Friends When She First Arrived in the United States
Camila Cabello takes over the stage at the Orpheum Theatre for the private Mastercard Concert in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (February 6).
The 22-year-old “Havana” singer performed for a host of Mastercard cardholders for the special concert ahead of the 2019 Grammy Awards, where Camila is up for two awards.
Ahead of the concert, Camila participated in a press Q&A where she revealed that Cheetah Girls helped her make friends when she first arrived in the States from Cuba.
“The Cheetah Girls movie had just come out and I had this Cheetah Girl CD and I would plug this boombox in and play it outside and I remember meeting my first best friend in the United States,” she remembered.
Camila added, “She was, like, ‘Oh my god, I love the Cheetah Girls’ and then we formed a little girl group. That’s always been — especially when I was younger — my way of connecting with people is through music that I loved and music that makes me feel something.”
So cute!
