Jessica Marie Garcia Reveals How She Relates To 'On My Block' Character Jasmine

The On My Block actress wore a chic striped dress for the movie screening. Little will hit theaters nationwide on Friday, April 12th.

In a recent interview, Jessica opened up about how she relates to her OMB character, Jasmine, and it’s all about coping with comedy.

“If I didn’t make jokes about what was going on, I don’t know what I was going to do,” she shared with Teen Vogue. “I feel like as people of color, we’ve had to find comedy in situations or else what would we do? It’s tough out here.”

Jessica added, “I’m not very far away from who Jasmine is, as far as using comedy to build up walls. She makes the joke, she’s not the joke.”

On My Block seasons one and two are streaming now on Netflix.
