Nina Dobrev Admits She Didn't Get Along With Paul Wesley When 'Vampire Diaries' First Started

While they have a good friendship now, Nina Dobrev revealed that she and Paul Wesley didn’t get along when they first started filming The Vampire Diaries.

“Paul and I didn’t get along at the beginning of the show. I respected Paul Wesley, I didn’t like Paul Wesley,” the 30-year-old actress shared while a guest on the “Directionally Challenged” podcast.

Nina added, “I remember everyone would walk up to me after the show aired and they’d be like, ‘Are you and Paul dating in real life?’ Everyone thought that we had such good chemistry. I realize now that there’s a fine line between love and hate and we despised each other so much that it read as love but…We really just didn’t get along the first five months of shooting.”

That’s all changed now – Paul even came to watch a taping of Nina‘s now cancelled series, Fam.

The Vampire Diaries signed off after eight seasons on The CW.
