Vanessa Hudgens Joins 'The Notebook' Reading Event as Allie

Vanessa Hudgens is taking on the iconic role of Allie in a reading event of The Notebook.

Part of Vassar and New York Stage & Film’s annual summer play Powerhouse season, the 30-year-old actress will join Jelani Alladin, Nicholas Belton, Candy Buckley, Antonio Cipriano, Hailey Kilgore, and James Naughton for the one-time-only reading event.

Based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks, The Notebook is a romantic drama about the enduring love between Noah and Allie, spanning the earliest days of their teen courtship through their struggles to remember each other in their twilight years.

Vanessa will read as “middle” Allie, the character played by Rachel McAdams on screen, who engages in the most torrid part of the central love affair, via EW.
