Meghan Trainor Is Re-Recording the 'Friends' Theme Song

Meghan Trainor has a new song coming out next week… and it’s a song you likely know and love already!

The 25-year-old singer has recorded a cover version of “I’ll Be There for You,” the Friends theme song, and it will be released on the show’s 25th anniversary.

The cover will air on radio station Z100 on Sunday, September 22 at 8:30pm ET, which is the exact time that the first episode debuted on September 22, 1994.

The Empire State Building will have a special music-to-light show set to the tune of the song at that moment too. Fans will be able to download the song at midnight eastern time on September 23.

“I can’t believe Warner Bros. asked me to do this,” Meghan said in a statement. “I’m so honored! I’m so excited that I get to be a part of celebrating such a legendary and iconic show like Friends!”
