Shawn Mendes Makes Generous Donation to Help Hospital Prepare For Coronavirus Patients

Shawn Mendes and his foundation are helping a hospital prepare for coronavirus patients.

The 21-year-old musician just made a $175,000 donation to the SickKids Foundation to help the acquire the equipment needed to care for people suffering from the virus.

“Through The Shawn Mendes Foundation, we have been working to find ways to best support the COVID-19 crisis. By making this donation to SickKids, we hope to help provide support in the urgent screening and prevention of COVID-19 for their patients and the surrounding community of Toronto,” Shawn shared on his Instagram account.

He added, “For the next month, we will be directing all donations to The Shawn Mendes Foundation to go towards additional efforts by SickKids, as well as efforts being made internationally by the World Health Organization COVID-19 Response Fund.”

The donation will enable SickKids to continue to provide the most efficient care during this rapidly evolving time to its patients, families, staff and community.
