'The 100' Showrunner Shares How Prequel Backdoor Pilot Affects Final Season

The 100 final season premieres TONIGHT (May 20) and showrunner Jason Rothenberg is dishing on the prequel pilot.

The backdoor pilot for the upcoming possible prequel series will air during the seventh season and it definitely factors into the arc of the season.

“There’s a big story that is unfolding as the season goes along, and then we get to the prequel,” Jason told EW.

“And that story does, I would say, explain and dramatize in a large way how we got here. It is pivotal, for sure, and wonderful. Performances in that are great; I mean, I just can’t say enough about this cast,” he added.

In case you missed it, The CW announced it’s new schedule for the 2020/2021 season, and an update on The 100 prequel series.
