Kathryn Gallagher Joins 'Gossip Girl' As This Character's Sister!

Kathryn Gallagher has joined the cast of Gossip Girl!

The Broadway actress and Tony Award nominee will be portraying the sister to Eli Brown‘s Otto “Obie” Bergmann.

Series creator and showrunner Joshua Safran revealed the news during the show’s recent panel at PaleyFest NY.

“You’re going to meet Obie’s sister, who is played by Kathryn Gallagher, Tony nominee from Jagged Little Pill. Kathryn is amazing. There’s a lot of fun things coming up,” Joshua said during the panel.

This will be the second member of Obie’s family that we’ve met. His mother Helena was first introduced in episode six of season one, played by Lyne Renee.

Kathryn has recently appeared in episodes of Modern Love and Blue Bloods, as well as an episode of The Flash in season five. She perhaps is most well known on screen from the first season of You.

The actress and singer is also a Grammy award winner for Best Musical Theater Album for the soundtrack to Broadway’s Jagged Little Pill, which she originated the role of Bella Fox!

If you didn’t know, her father is actor Peter Gallagher.

Gossip Girl, which has been renewed for a second season, is set to return to HBO Max for the second half of season one in just a few weeks!
