Austin Butler & 'Elvis' Cast Received Longest Standing Ovation at Cannes Film Festival This Year So Far

Austin Butler, Olivia DeJonge and Tom Hanks get in a group picture at the Elvis photo call held during the 2022 Cannes Film Festival on Thursday (May 26) at Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.
The co-stars were joined by their cast mate Alton Mason, as well as director Baz Luhrmann and Priscilla Presley.
The day before, they all attended the Cannes premiere of the upcoming movie, and afterward, received the longest standing ovation of the festival this year, so far.

According to Variety, the film received “an uproarious 12-minute standing ovation” after it’s screening.

Earlier in the week, a new interview with Austin was released, where he revealed that he was hospitalized shortly after finishing filming on the movie.
“The next day I woke up at four in the morning with excruciating pain, and I was rushed to the hospital,” he told GQ Hype. “My body just started shutting down the day after I finished Elvis.”
Austin was diagnosed with a virus that simulates appendicitis and spent a week bedridden.
