Millie Bobby Brown & Russo Brothers 'The Electric State' Lands at Netflix

Millie Bobby Brown and the Russo brothers are all re-teaming with Netflix on their upcoming film The Electric State!

The trio’s project was first announced with Universal in December 2020, and it has now shifted to the streamer, THR reports.

Millie of course has multiple projects going on with Netflix – Stranger Things, Enola Holmes 2 and more. Brothers Joe and Anthony Russo also have their big new movie The Gray Man, starring Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling, premiering on the streamer in July.

The Electric State is adapted from the graphic novel by Simon Stålenhag, set in an alternative future, it tells the story of a teenage girl (Brown) who realizes that a strange but sweet robot who comes to her has actually been sent by her missing brother. She and the robot set out to find the brother in an imaginative world of humans mixing with all manner of robots, uncovering a grand conspiracy in the process.

The budget for the film is reportedly north of $200 million, a reason why Universal no longer was interested, after previously putting on a fast track.

THR reports that Chris Pratt is also in talks to join the project.

Production is set to begin this October in Atlanta.
