Bart Johnson Teases His Return to 'High School Musical' Franchise

Bart Johnson is sharing a little tease from being on the set of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series season four!

If you missed it, the actor, who played Coach Bolton in the movies, and five other original stars are returning in the Disney+ series‘ upcoming new season.

In the new episodes, they will be filming High School Musical 4: The Reunion, and the OGs will be playing themselves and reprising their film characters, with the new crop of Wildcats acting as extras.

Bart, who is quite active on social media, took to Twitter this past week to share a few tidbits about being on set.

“Back on set of High School Musical today. Back on the basketball court at East High. Feels like stepping out of a Time Machine. So great to be BACK with some OG cast ❤️🏀🐾,” he wrote on Wednesday (September 28).

“My friends… Disney has asked me to keep a lid on all the details so I’m not able to share or even hint about the specifics. Until it’s release. But I can tell you how exciting this is and how much we are all loving it and I’m not gonna lie… there were tears. Love & Gratitude,” Bart added.

The next day, he shared that he was filming with Alyson Reed, aka Ms Darbus!

“As I stand here today next to Darbus, I just wanna say… careful what you wish for, kids. 🫤,” he wrote. Some fans are speculating this means that they’re finally doing the duet that was allegedly planned and never filmed for the first movie.

Bart even said that Sofia Wylie has already made them do a TikTok – We can’t wait to see it!
