Star Wars Celebration Kicks Off In London - Check Out the Day 1 Highlights!

The Star Wars Celebration kicked off the weekend with it’s first day on Friday (Aril 7) at ExCel London Convention Center in London, England.

The first day brought so many announcements about upcoming Lucasfilm projects, include multiple new Star Wars projects and even the next Indiana Jones film.

Now that the celebration has started, we’re breaking down the biggest highlights of the day, which included trailer premieres, casting announcements, and movie reveals.

Get all the scoop inside…

One of the biggest highlights of the day was the announcement that Daisy Ridley will be reprising her role of Rey for an upcoming film, set 15 years after the last events of the Skywalker Saga, where it will tell the story of rebuilding the New Jedi Order and the powers that rise to tear it down.

They also announced two more Star Wars movies, one diving deep into the past, telling the tale of the first Jedi to wield the Force and harness it as a liberating power in an era of chaos and oppression, and the other, showing the escalating war between the Imperial Remnant and the fledgling New Republic.

On the trailer side, fans were treated to the first teaser trailer of the upcoming series Ahsoka, which follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

Those in attendance were also given a first look at the next episode of The Mandalorian season three, as well as a first look at the second and final season of Andor.

The official logo for Star Wars: The Acolyte, starring Amandla Stenberg, was revealed. The series will “take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes but discovers the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.” Find out more of the cast here!

Another upcoming new series, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, revealed the young actors that will be starring in the show. Find out who has been cast (including someone from Encanto)!

Last but certainly NOT least, in non-Star Wars related news, the trailer for Harrison Ford‘s final Indiana Jones film, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, was unveiled.

The upcoming film will see Harrison‘s last film return as the legendary hero archaeologist Dr Jones, and will also star Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, John Rhys-Davies, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Ethann Isidore and Mads Mikkelsen.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will debut at the Cannes Film Festival in May and it will hit theaters on June 30th.
