Disney's 'Bunk'd' Pauses Production Amid Writer's Strike, Studio Hopes to Resume Soon

Bunk’d is one of the many TV shows being affected by the writer’s strike!

The Disney Channel show, which has been filming it’s upcoming, historic seventh season, has had to halt production due to the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) strike.

According to Deadline, in a memo from It’s a Laugh Productions, who produces the series, they are hoping that a resolution could be found quickly so they can resume production “at the earliest possible opportunity.”

The site reports that they are more than halfway through the seventh season, with 12 episodes already filmed and eight remaining.

While the show is suspended, the actors will not be paid, “except for the terms of the Agreement,” the document from It’s A Laugh reportedly states.

Bunk’d, of course, stars Miranda May, Trevor Tordjman, Mallory James Mahoney, Israel Johnson, Shiloh Verrico, Luke Busey and Alfred Lewis.

Season six is currently airing on Disney Channel, with the finale scheduled for May 21st.
