Only One 'Stranger Things' Star is Eligible for Nominations at Emmys 2023 - Here's Who & Why

Stranger Things has become a fan-favorite show that has picked up so many awards over the years. However, the cast won’t be sweeping things at the 2023 Emmy Awards.

That’s because only one of the stars from the series is even eligible to be nominated this year.

How is that possible and who might be representing the show?

According to Variety, the Stranger Things release schedule for its fourth season has made it so that only Dacre Montgomery is eligible for a nomination.

If you forgot, Netflix rolled out the first seven episodes of the show in May 2022. Those episodes were up for nominations at the 2022 ceremony and emerged victorious in five categories.

The final two episodes arrived after the eligibility period for the 2022 ceremony in July. They are now referred to as “orphan” episodes. Since there are only two episodes, the show doesn’t meet requirements to be entered into most of the categories.

Dacre has a chance at landing a nod in the Guest Actor in a Drama Series category, where he’d face stiff competition from actors who made cameos in projects such as Succession, Better Call Saul and The Last of Us.

Earlier this month we got some pretty sad news about Stranger Things.
